hi, I’m jenna.
I’m a chaplain and writer.
Chaplains do this thing called bearing witness—we sit with people in their pain, listen deeply, and stay present to their stories and spiritual journeys without trying to fix what can’t be fixed.
My writing grows out of that same posture: a desire to witness the complexity of life, in all its joy and pain, and to honor the dignity of each person.
bearing witness through Writing
Each chapter of my chaplaincy has shaped my writing.
My essays have appeared in The New York Times, Wayfare, Deseret Magazine, and Deseret News.
These days, I’m exploring other forms, too—screenplay, fiction, and poetry.

the secular the religious the spiritual the skeptic
Chaplains care for people of any faith, or none.
It’s my hope to honor each person’s path. I truly believe that diversity strengthens us as a whole. Spirituality, like art, can take many forms.
Wherever you are, I wish you peace and joy on your path.
